Folkmanis Puppets grew from Judy Folkmanis’ love of puppets and her desire to provide her son with well-crafted, original toys that would provide her child with hours of fun with meaningful play value. The requests for puppets started pouring in from the parents of her son’s classmates. The demand grew, and in 1976 she and her husband Atis turned her hobby into a business. Almost forty years later, and two generations later, families with kids of all ages continue to garner enjoyment from the award winning puppets produced by Folkmanis.
The attention to detail and the delightful tales plus the factual information contained on the tag of each puppet enhance the value of the puppet…making them the perfect gift for all ages. Puppets have been used in schools, by therapists, and at home to encourage creativity, interaction, enhance motor skills and, last by not least, Folkmanis Puppets live on as trusted companions for years. Folkmanis, Inc. believes that toys and puppets are crucial for healthy childhood development.
Domestically, Folkmanis is a regular benefactor to various children’s welfare organizations: K.I.D.S., Kids Wish Network, Lekotek, Blind Babies Foundation, Indian Reservations, Children’s Hospitals, Hospices and Shelters, Libraries, Schools, Zoos, Museums, and Wildlife Welfare Organizations. To ensure that children all over the world receive the same opportunities that we enjoy at home, Folkmanis donates puppets around the world, to be distributed among refugees, orphans and social workers.

SHEEP DOG: He pants, he barks, he hunts for fleas, he wags his tail, he tilts his head quizzically, he sniffs your sleeve- and he makes your friends believe he's real, all with your help, of course. But a hidden entrance and long fur hide the secret of your participation, so prepare to charm and be charmed by the magic of one of our most popular puppets.
RAGDOLL CAT: Snuggle up with this furry, floppy realistic feline. This Ragdoll Cat is true to its breed. With relaxed paws and a long fluffy tail, it looks almost boneless! Put side by side with a real live cat and it would be hard to tell the difference. Made of long, chocolate tipped plush with white markings.
RACCOON: Who's that masked creature making all that racket? The raccoons must be looting the trash again. Even if he is spending too much time in the can, you won't mind when you see this adorable creature peeking out from under the lid. Little Raccoon says, please recycle!
