Pampeana

Pampeana started over 10 years ago promoting leather masks from an artist in Argentina.  In 2006, they started working two young glass artists from Ecuador and Pampeana Glass Art was born. Pampeana Glass Art supports Fair Trade standards for labor, environmentalism and social policy relating to the production and distribution of Fair Trade goods. Our focus is to work with individuals with little or no formal education and limited financial resources, providing opportunities that will allow them to have a stable environment and help them move from a position of vulnerability to one of security and economic self-sufficiency. Pampeana aims to empower these individuals by encouraging them to become stakeholders in their own organizations and to actively play a wider role in the design and development of their handcrafted products.

Their focus is also to work with recycled or renewable materials that have little or no impact on our environment.  Pampeana operations in the USA impact the life of over 70 families outside the USA and about 20 families in the USA. When you purchase a product promoted by Pampeana, you become an ambassador of Fair Trade principles, supporting equality and sustainability as well as helping to preserve our environment

The Cottage features three best sellers: the window ornament,  night light and wavy glass.  While any of the three will make a wonderful gift for family or friends, they are also a great reminder of your stay on Jekyll…letting the light shine through your window as it does so beautifully on our Georgia barrier island.

The Pampeana philosophy:

"Small steps in the right direction take us further

along our journey to a better world for everyone.”
